Surrender doesn’t mean You are Alone!

I was listening to a song this morning, and a prose in the song stated “Hallelujah, I am not alone! He’s my comfort, Always Holds me Close!” That song is Psalm 23 (I Am Not Alone). It allowed me to realize that even when I decide to let go or surrender, that I am never alone. God is always with me!

There may be something that you are dealing with right at this moment where you feel discouraged, out of sorts, dismayed, or that nothing will ever go right. You may be on your last dime. Sickness may have invaded your or a loved one’s body. Whatever that circumstance, God’s goodness is always real! His mercy is forever! His Spirit lives within you! He will allow you to walk towards your Victory!

I say to you this morning “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy  31:6)

It’s not always easy to Surrender

Due to the current times of pandemic, isolation, and racial tension, there is an extreme nature for isolation to increase. Although some isolation is normal; there are many including myself, where isolation is/was becoming too comfortable! Which ultimately means you find yourself battling thoughts of things you may have overcome or losing hope.

When I think over my life there are many times, I wondered how am I still managing with a sane mind. Everyone says that we are not supposed to do life alone but what do you do when everyone around you abandons, disappoints, or treats you as if you are invisible. Or your mind stays stuck on what you used to be! Daughter to drug addicted parents, rape survivor, single mother never married, or maybe a drug dealer or person who went to jail. We all have a story or testimony. What is yours?

Now surrendering is not always an easy task! We all want control but there will be many occasions where we have no other choice but to change our mindset or focus. I can recall reading, Matthew 10:39 “Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

It was then that God told me “I’ll tell you what you can do! You can SHIFT and seek me out. Matthew 6:33 states “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Once I began seeking God so many things became clear. I am no longer those things that people said or those circumstances that I didn’t have any control over. I had to learn the process to surrender all of those thoughts, feelings and circumstances over to God!

Why I started this blog?

All your life you search for purpose and why you were placed in this earth. God showed me a long time ago the desires of my heart. It wasn’t until I went through the process of SHIFT that these things began to manifest. My focus SHIFTED by developing a relationship with God and the layers were revealed. Things were dug up and the process of shedding began. This journey is ever evolving and I hope you join me in the discovery.
